On February 21, 2022, Fraspada Company Limited and Cedar One Realty announced the next phase of development at Franciscan Square. Fraspada has entered into a multi-phase agreement with Franciscan University to further develop the property along University Boulevard in Steubenville, Ohio.
Community Commitment
This exciting next phase signals the commitment of both Franciscan University and Fraspada Company Limited to improving the local community. It will be built next to the Inn at Franciscan Square, which opened its doors in late 2016, and will be the perfect complement to the restaurants and office spaces that have operated at the site since 2018.
The mixed-use development will add 12,000–16,000 sq. ft. of professional space, 14,000 sq. ft. of retail and dining space and 16–24 private residences. This sizable investment builds on the success of the initial phase, which brought more than 100 jobs to Franciscan Square.

This next phase will create new job opportunities in multiple sectors as it attracts new businesses to the area and provides a welcoming environment for guests who visit our community.
The private residences will feature one- and two-bedroom apartments, a much-needed addition to the local housing market in a unique and convenient setting.

Phase two of Franciscan Square was slated to open in the winter of 2023, with subsequent phases following that will help establish Franciscan Square as one of the premier destinations in the Ohio Valley.
